After more than 15,000 submissions from fans across the world and a year of deliberation, BVB decided to go for the Westfalenstadion-inspired effort from Timo R. The concept of the design centres around the question “what makes a BVB home game special?” The creator’s answer was “the fans, the Yellow Wall and the stadium”, so he immortalised the silhouette of the Signal Iduna Park on the jersey and added a “coal structure … to remind us of the roots of the Ruhr region.” The legendary BVB crest is proudly emblazoned over your left chest, so everyone can see which team your heart belongs to.
